Born from across the Scottish border, St Columba stays close to the hearts of members across the nation. Creating a widespread community feel for all team members and their families, the club is in the community – for the community in Torpoint. Investing time into every individual who trains, plays and works with us, we continue to proudly share our open, family-friendly nature that has been within our club since 1927.

St Columba and Torpoint RFC is about more than the opportunity to play rugby itself (though of course, this is in the heart of everything we do!). Our training provides professional fitness opportunities for our players and for our youth team it creates bonds and friendships that will impact them for the rest of their lives. Seeing our team members enjoy and succeed in rugby, school and work thanks to increased fitness, focus, determination and positivity is exactly the reason why St Columba Rugby Club is such an important part of our community. We thank each and every member, staff and parent, for every contribution you make to the club.

Club Chair`s Welcome

"As the club chair, I’d like to welcome each and every one of you to our club. It is both an honour and a privilege to be the chair of such a prestigious club that is one of the oldest rugby clubs in Devon and Cornwall. My aspiration is to increase health, fitness and wellbeing through the love of rugby as well as growing the club with new members from the great community of Ramehead. I am passionate about player welfare and safeguarding along with my incredible team of volunteers. It is our intent as a rugby club to ensure that all members are fully supported and that we can deliver great rugby training and games in a safe and welcoming place. I hope and look forward to welcoming new members at our club, either playing or socially"

Head Coach`s Welcome

"My coaching career began in the mid-1990s having taken my son to our local rugby club. That club was Blackheath Football Club, the oldest open rugby club in the world, and so my coaching and playing career began. Rugby simply changed my life. From coaching Blackheath women's team to the National second division; coaching, playing and captaining a league winning 3rd and 4th XV to chairing the mini section. In 2018 he moved to Cornwall reinvigorated my rugby journey. St Columba and Torpoint RFC is a true community asset. It is a wonderful club that aspires to greater things. It has a fantastic management team behind-the-scenes and it is an honour to be part of a rugby club that offers so much and has so much potential. Welcome, and enjoy the noise."
